WHAT IS FIBRE?

New Zealand’s Ultra-Fast Broadband (also called UFB) fibre network, which is being installed by New Zealand’s 4 Local Fibre Companies, delivers a range of high speed Internet options to consumers, businesses, schools and hospitals. In general these speeds are dramatically improved and offer lower latency when compared with the ADSL internet connections most common in NZ in 2012.
We want to take New Zealand to the latest technology. Fibre is faster, and far more reliable compared to the outdated copper wires many are still currently stuck with.
