WHAT IS FIBRE?
The latest advancement in broadband technology, fibre optic broadband is promising super-fast speeds for all of your daily internet needs.
Its name comes from the use of plastic or glass cables, which allow for faster data transfer compared to the standard copper wires which are used in regular broadband connections.
New Zealand’s Ultra-Fast Broadband (also called UFB) fibre network, which is being installed by New Zealand’s 4 Local Fibre Companies, delivers a range of high speed Internet options to consumers, businesses, schools and hospitals. In general these speeds are dramatically improved and offer lower latency when compared with the ADSL internet connections most common in NZ in 2012.
We want to take New Zealand to the latest technology. Fibre is faster, and far more reliable compared to the outdated copper wires many are still currently stuck with. We are here to give Kiwi households that helping hand to a better internet experience. We think every home deserves to be up to speed with what’s available, as the internet becomes more and more part of our lives — from watching your favourite movies to sorting out your bills. Nobody needs to waste time on bad connections; you deserve the best!
There are packages to suit every family, at rates that actually give you bang for your buck. From low usage users that are just looking for a faster, more reliable service to those that have everyone on the internet at once; downloading movies, playing online games and sorting out bank accounts.
